    Fauquier Health

    500 Hospital Drive, Warrenton, VA

    Fauquier Hospital is a 97-bed community hospital, located 75 miles from the scenic Shenandoah National Park and 48 miles from Washington D.C. Fauquier is a fully-accredited Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center with cutting-edge technology, including low-dose 3D mammography services, large-bore MRI, and lower radiation CT scanners.

    A recipient of The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval, Fauquier is a smaller medical community with a tight-knit staff. Fauquier was established in 1925 and became part of LifePoint Hospitals in 2013. Built in 1999 and located in the charming community of Warrenton, the hospital itself is beautiful and modern.

    Since 2000, Fauquier has been a Planetree designated patient-centered hospital, a distinction that highlights Fauquier's commitment to innovative, holistic healthcare. The Planetree designation focuses on excellence in ten different areas including:

    Located 20 miles from DC in Fairfax, VA, Inova Fair Oaks is a 182-bed acute care community hospital that has received numerous awards, distinctions, and accolades.
    • In 2017, Truven Analytics named Inova Fair Oaks one of the Top 100 Hospitals in the country; this is the fourth time the hospital has received this honor
    • In 2015, Fair Oaks received an A patient safety rating from The Leapfrog Group; only 31% of hospitals received an A grade nationwide
    • In 2012, Fair Oaks was the only hospital in Virginia to be listed as one of Leapfrog's Best Hospitals in the Country
    • Fair Oaks consistently scores in the 95th percentile for physician satisfaction
    The entire team at Fair Oaks shares a commitment to innovative, patient-centered care. When VEMA physicians created the Simulation Lab at Fair Oaks in 2011, it was the first of its kind in Northern Virginia. The Simulation Lab offers the entire ER team including physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, techs, and hospital staff the opportunity to train with adult and baby mannequins. By practicing critical skills in a calm, controlled environment, team members become more efficient and confident in an emergency situation. In the near future, VEMA physicians plan to acquire a neonatal mannequin, so that they'll be even better prepared to treat the youngest patients.

    The Area

    The Washington metropolitan area is an exciting place to live and work.     Fairfax, Virginia is widely recognized for its excellent schools, thriving businesses, and exceptional quality of life. With a charming downtown area and a population of about 25,000, Fairfax is just 20 miles from downtown DC. It offers the best of both worlds: the quaint feel of a small town with close proximity to bustling Washington. Forbes Magazine recently named Fairfax one of the best places to live in the U.S., and residents often praise the city's outstanding infrastructure, plentiful cultural amenities, and gorgeous parks.     Known as Virginia Horse Country, Fauquier County holds several equestrian events every year, including the International Gold Cup Races. Fauquier County is also recognized for its many award-winning wineries and vineyards, most of which offer a variety of wine tasting festivals and events. Located less than an hour away from Washington, DC, the town of Warrenton is nestled among rolling hills and lush farmland. Warrenton's downtown area includes historic homes, brick sidewalks, and friendly residents who enjoy the town's vibrant arts scene and rich agriculture. Nearby, the beautiful Shenandoah National Park offers breathtaking views and unlimited opportunities to explore the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

    Easy Public Transit

    The DC region boasts an excellent transportation system, including multiple international airports, a huge network of bus lines, and a growing web of local and commuter trains. The Washington Metro recently began expanding train service beyond the beltway with the Sliver Line, a much-anticipated extension that is making it easier and faster to travel between DC and the outlying suburbs.

    Largely due to the dozens of federal agencies based in the DC Metro area as well as abundant government contracts Northern Virginia's economy is strong and growing.
