Dr. Ahlers is recognized as both a Fellow in the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and a Fellow in the American College of Emergency Physicians. He has been practicing medicine in the Northern Virginia area since 2016. Areas of interest include clinical teaching and improving electronic medical record efficiencies and physician workflow.
Originally from Western Pennsylvania, Dr. Ahlers attended Pennsylvania State University obtaining two degrees in Nutritional Sciences and Physiology. He graduated with Honors from the Pennsylvania State University Schreyers Honors College. He subsequently earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Pennsylvania State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. After medical school, he completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at ChristianaCare in Delaware.
