Dr. Kyli Krape joined VEMA in August of 2017 and now serves as Chair of Emergency Medicine and Medical Staff Secretary at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. Through her work as Chair, she has led and been involved in several quality improvement initiatives focusing on patient safety, throughput and flow. She has worked to leverage innovative processes in the emergency department that meet the needs of patients and staff and optimize the experience of working, and receiving care, in the Fair Oaks Emergency Department. She was integral in the creation and implementation of a medical addiction treatment initiative for the Inova Health System to facilitate early intervention from the ED for opioid abuse.
Dr. Krape graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA. Prior to joining VEMA, she worked in ERs in underserved rural eastern and northeastern Pennsylvania.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Krape enjoys playing golf and watching any and all sports. She is an enthusiastic though not-always-successful gardener and can usually be found in her kitchen trying to perfect generational recipes from her family’s farm in Pennsylvania.
